On 12 March 2024 the Additional Sessions Judge in Hapur convicted all ten accused under Indian Penal Code sections 302 and 307 read with 149, 147, 148 and 153A, and sentenced each to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 58,000.[1][2] The victims' families had not sought the death penalty and said they wanted only justice.[1]
